Beach Clean Mission Beach
Our ‘Brekkie Beach Clean Mission Beach’ creative experience.
Firstly, Mission Beach, is a beautiful beachside town on the Cassowary Coast, but unfortunately does not escape the threat of plastic pollution.
Therefore, this week we decided to get creative with our findings in the hope to inspire others.

Monday Mornings
In general, many people don’t enjoy Monday Mornings. With this in mind, we decided to start the week off on a high, with our Brekkie Beach Clean Mission Beach.
At 7am we took a short stoll from our campsite at Bali Hai to Wongaling Beach, Mission Beach.

What did we find?
During a 45 minute beach clean up we found 251 pieces of plastic. First of all, we found the usual suspects, bottle caps and lids.
Furthermore, we discovered a straw, a toothbrush, a thong aka ‘flip-flip’ and even an unopened coffee and tea sachet.

A Work of Art
Not quite Picasso, but nevertheless we got creative, used our imagination and had fun doing so!
Find your inner artist and get creative!

Recording our Findings
Instead of throwing it straight into the disposal bins we recorded our Brekkie Beach Clean with Tangaroa Blue.
Tangaroa Blue Foundation is an Australian registered charity focused on the health of our marine environment and monitor the impacts of marine debris along Australia’s coastline.
