Jose Paronella was a spanish cane farmer who arrived in Australia in 1913.
He had a dream…. his dream was to build a Castle. In 1935 his castle opened to the public… His dream came true!

We had wanted to visit Paronella Park for quite some time… finally we had the chance!
This beautiful place, nested away in the rainforest is open daily for visitors with admission including a nights accomodation in their rainforest campground.

Paronella Park offer three tours daily (included in the admission fee) All of which give you a true insight of how it all began.
The Dream Continues Tour
A 45 minute guided walking tour through lush rainforest, castles and waterfalls.
We loved this tour, our excellent guide helped our imagiantion run wild as we discovered the history within.
Tours operate every 30 minutes from 9:30am – 4:30pm.
The Darkness Falls Tour
A special way to see Paronella Park is on a night tour. Guided through the forest by torchlight and exciting stoires.
We met our guide by the entrance, and after a brief introduction, discovered what life was like at Paronella in the 1930’s.
Tours operate 6:15pm every night (approx 1 hour).
The Hydro Tour
This tour may not be for everyone, but if you enjoy learning, then this short tour is for you!
Paronella Park is powered by a river-driven Hydro Electric Generator! The first one in Queensland and this fascinating 15 minute tour lets you discover how it all works!
